...of showers. Risk of a thunderstorm. So says the Weatheroffice. Perfect weather for reading. As you can see, the showers materialized. Also, as you can see, I have more books. They came in the mail yesterday.
Red Velvet Forest by Shawna Lemay. Reborn: Journals & Notebooks, 1947-1963 by Susan Sontag. And Rising, Falling, Hovering by C.D. Wright. I ordered two of the books after reading this post on Lemon Hound. The majority of my book purchases are a result of word of mouth recommendations or because of lists like this. If I'm interested in the work of a writer, then often that writer's reading choices are of interest to me as well.
Well, the wind has picked up. I imagine a thunderstorm is next.
Apparently I took this pic last night.
I accidentally hit one of the million buttons on the camera and was hurrying to sort it out before the rabbit hopped off. I must have hit the shutter button in the process.
I covet that mittful, B. (Also, that storm. Not a single storm so far! Not one!)
Yes, I have some great summer reading ahead!
Well, we didn't get a storm after all. Yay! And the sun came out this evening. Yay! And we drove out to our favourite spot. Yay!!!
You'll get a storm yet I'm sure. I think that area gets its share.
oh! jealous of the Sontag.
i read the sontag - courtesy of the library not long ago, but wish i had it to leaf through now!
as for the red book..... ; )
I imagine my buying habits would be so much different if I had a nice big library nearby. I'm usually pretty happy with my choices, but the odd time I sigh at the amount I spent on, say, a much hyped new novel. I don't buy those too often.
when i worked at the library, i think i actually bought more! all these great books would cross my path and after dealing with grubby library books all day would not want to touch another....so i'd buy a fresh new one.
Ha! I can imagine.
you'll love the red book. it's nearly as lovely as its author was the other night when she launched it.
I bet I will! I'm anxious to start reading it! Soon!
