A northern monologue
Nice; all huddled in. Do you see any ptarmigans in summer?
Haven't so far. I imagine these will head north before long. I'm really hoping to spot a stray male Rock one day.
Cute! They look a bit like sheep in the snow. And about the second photo: signs of spring or just messy eating?
Ha! Yes, it does look messy. I think it's molting though.
The sleeping-in-snow one nearly knocks me over. (They look dead. They look very comfortable. They look like divine snow sculptures...)
Nice. I've yet to come across another species that leaves me breathless every time. There's something magical about these birds.
I have to say, I keep coming back to see those snow burrowing birds.
I'd love to be that at home in snow!
