Yes I'll be reading in Vernon, BC

...on November 22 with Terry Jordan!

Terry will actually be there. I will be making a virtual appearance via Skype. I'm grateful to be able to celebrate the launch of Flight Calls: An Apprentice on the Art of Listening in ways that suit who I am and how I live my life. Thank you to Kalamalka Press for this. In a recent post on Blue Duets, Kathleen Wall talks about book launches and shares some thoughts on Flight Calls itself. I'm delighted to say the least. Many thanks to Kathleen. Thank you to everyone who has given Flight Calls a look. You're the best!

That will be a cool reading! And with Terry Jordan, no less. Too bad you won't get him in person, though. I love how his warmth and gentleness just kinda fill a room.

Oh, I'd meant to tell you that Flight Calls is making the rounds through Sacred Web. Last I heard 4 or 5 women have read it and all reports are good!

Looking forward to it! Terry Jordan is great. And I agree. I last heard him read a few years back at Sage Hill.

Thank you! Nice to hear!

Congrats, Brenda. I want to hear how the Skype thing works. Give them all a blast over in the OK.

Thanks! Will do. Keep a bucket of water handy that night! Your ears might be burning!

This is very cool, Brenda! And good for Kathleen - that was a great post, too. It's a good topic in general - thinking about all the money, fuel, etc that authors spend to maybe sell a book or two. (I mean, hopefully more, but sometimes that's the way it goes). I know it's all about more than selling books, of course. And I also like the idea that a book launch can be more. Yours sounded fascinating. Good luck with the skyping.

Thanks Shawna! It's certainly something I've been thinking about a lot and from what I see on FB and elsewhere it's an increasingly common topic. Now I just need Atwood's LongPen! :) I love the idea of actual-virtual mashups like this, so we'll see how it goes. I also think virtual communication is evolving far more rapidly than anyone could ever have imagined. It's become quite a comfortable way of relating for many.
