Today an ant threw its shadow against a snake and something clicked

This is beautiful! How often do we see snakes looking so curious and innocent? The one time I saw a rattlesnake in the wild, it was similar. Just moving across a trail, with a purposeful expression on its face...

Thank you! It made my day. It was such a tiny little guy, and incredibly hard to see against the rock, unless you're zoomed in like this. Purposeful is right. I was tempted to follow it to see where it was headed.

Lucky you! I'd love to see a rattlesnake on the move. I saw one sunning by a picnic table in Red Rock Coulee in Alberta once.

I love it. I quite like snakes, at least when they don't sneak up on me.

Thanks! Yes, sneaky snakes wouldn't be good at all.

I, too, saw a snake the other day, slinkering by where a path diverged in the woods. It went one way and I went the other. There was no ant and I think that made all the difference...

:)
