My order from Frog Hollow Press

...arrived a while back. The books are gorgeous. Last week I read the introductions by Shane Neilson. The introduction to Now That You Revive addresses the criticism of Moritz's work that came following the publication of Night Street Repairs. As I read, I recalled the hot exchanges on Bookninja regarding the reviews by David Solway and Carmine Starnino. By the end of the introduction, I felt anxious on behalf of the poems. Please be good, please be good, I kept thinking. I read a few, but couldn't shake the tension, so I decided to put the book aside for a while and let the introduction fade a bit.

The broadsheet is gorgeous, too. The blurb on the site says ""Achromatope" is arguably one of the best poems Zach has written."
I have to agree. It's a mighty fine poem.

Thanks, Brenda!

I neglected to mention the illustration, which works beautifully with the poem. I'd wondered who did it, and only noticed today when I linked to "Achromatope." I must have been sleeping when I placed the order.

Apparently, before Caryl manipulated the photo, the guy was closer to the lamppost and it looked like he was urinating on it.

Ha! Now I won't be able to look at it with a straight face.

Thanks for the compliments, Brenda.
Zach's broadsheet is selling very well and I'm sure the 'peeing on the lamppost' bit will pique even more interest!! Moe + ritz (as in the cracker) - and do read the poems!

Caryl, I will definitely read them! Both books are at the top of the pile. As soon as my studio is done and my nice reading chair is in place, I will dig back into the poems.

Got it in the mail today. Caryl, I want a broadsheet like this. It's so gorgeous it almost doesn't matter if Zach's poem is any good (which it is).
