Some new books

...or at least new to me.

Attack of the Copula Spiders by Douglas Glover.

The Ecstasy of Influence by Jonathan Lethem.

What Light Can Do by Robert Hass.

Behind the books are some peas that need picking.

I wonder how you're enjoying the Haas? He's a marvellous poet.
"I had the idea that the world’s so full of pain
it must sometimes make a kind of singing.
And that the sequence helps, as much as order helps—
First an ego, and then pain, and then the singing."

He certainly is. I haven't started this book of essays yet. I'm currently halfway through reading Glover's essays on writing and enjoying his spirited approach. It's a very good book so far.
