These are so vivid and, well, ornamental somehow! Always interesting to see what other people have in their gardens in this vast country. Here it's chickadees (chestnut-backed), Steller's jays, dark-eyed juncos, the occasional varied thrush. And a single nuthatch who flies in with the chickadees but who is so much more elegant!

I agree, they are elegant! There's something about the way they hold themselves, that extension of the neck and the clean line.
