It looks like the quiet agony
...I experience while waiting for initial feedback on my books is normal enough. "There are some colleagues whose judgement I wait for" writes Guy Gavriel Kay in a post on BrightWeavings. Like any long-time fan, I was checking for news on his forthcoming novel. I came away feeling a bit more at ease with my own writing life. It's reassuring to see that even a writer of Kay's stature doesn't get used to the waiting period. It is the close colleagues and the people I look up to whose feedback I long for most. Some responses to my latest books were mercifully swift. Thank goodness.
