a writers/artists retreat at St. Peter's Abbey.
This post on Blue Duets captures the spirit of the place and brings back so many memories. I wonder if there's still an endless supply of cookies. I'd like nothing more than to grab one and head out for a walk around the grid. Maybe wave at the writer who sometimes sits in the chair by the dugout. Maybe not. He's not always easy to see.

Yes, Brenda, there is an endless supply of cookies. I'm trying to keep out of them. As Oscar Wilde said, "I can resist anything except temptation."
Ha! Great quote! It should be taped to the jar. Now I'm craving those cookies even more.
I keep telling myself I can 'create' a semi-retreat feeling at home; still haven't managed it. After reading the Blue Duets post, I'm reminded why...
Sounds lovely. (Despite the tractors!)
It is lovely. I enjoy my solitude and live a life geared that way, yet a retreat somehow shakes things up in a good way.
