Today an oddball redpoll

...with a distinct yellow forecrown. Maybe ochre is a better word.

April 7 - It was a colder morning. Once again a large redpoll with a yellow ochre forecrown showed up. I took photos of its undertail coverts, which are a clean white with no apparent streaks. Here are two photos of it in the presence of other redpolls.

Very unique! Yellowpolls. I've seen House Finches with yellow. Have you heard about any other such sightings?

Yes, it was pretty cool! It sure stood out. I did some googling and found a couple other posts about redpolls with yellow or orange forecrowns.
