What's there to say

...when there's so much singing going on outside?


This little guy was singing in the willow by my office window, so I cranked it open and took a few pics. Mostly I just listened. Noted the balance.

Nice bird! It looks like a girl--mostly because of the colour. I've never seen a red/pink bird before!

It sure is! It's a male purple finch. A lovely songster.

I wish I could just click "Like" because that's all I want to say, but I also like how the guide describes the colour as "dipped in raspberry juice." Wonderful! Two flickers today--oh how i love Spring

It is cool. And this is one of the birds that I've been assigned to write a species account on for an upcoming book which I'll say more about when it goes into production.
