Well, I was revisiting Dennis Lee's essay "Body Music: Notes on Rhythm and Poetry" in Thinking and Singing: Poetry & the Practice of Philosophy, ed. Tim Lilburn, and paused on the part about spatial layout and got a bit offtrack as usual. I was thinking about the ways meaning can be enhanced when one highlights the space. So here. Highlight the space and see.
Ha! It just might! Though how would one highlight the white text on a white tshirt to make it readable as you do in my post? Hm. Who knows, maybe advanced tshirt technology already exists. Maybe there are iron-on solar tshirt transfers. And as it gets dark the message comes to light. Or something.
Ha! But what about the rest of the text? Did you highlight the white space in my post to see what else I had to say? Or you can hit Show Original Post above on this comment page to see the text.
Re the T-shirt: my partner has a shirt that shows people sitting in a cinema, all wearing identical glasses. Yup, the 3-D kind. They look ordinary enough until you go into darkness. Then the glasses all glow and it's eerily fun. Same kind of paint might work for your idea. Since he teaches photography, it's especially cool in the darkroom.

a silent period to reflect in?

I know I know. I blame the heat. :)
Of course what I did doesn't display properly in some feeds, making a fun post look a bit more earnest than it really is, but hey.
Hey! Very cool!
At first I reloaded the page, twice. I think it says more about the reader. Me: impatient.
Ha! I can picture you reloading!
I reloaded a few times yesterday before comments and checked back to see if it loaded properly today!
Lee's essay is a good one. Have you read his whole book of essays. It's been a while for me, but it was definitely an excellent read.
Ha!
No I haven't. I just googled to see what book you're talking about. Body Music, right? I don't have that book. I must fix that. Thanks!
Yup. It's Body Music.
Excellent. Thanks!
It's only August and my wishlist is huge. Can't imagine what it will look like once fall hits.
I hear you there!
Would make a good t-shirt?

What highlight! Just print the caption/title at the top of a white shirt and let 'er rip(ple).

Cool! Sounds like a great tshirt! Thanks to you, this tshirt might eventually come to be!
