What a wonderful post! I've been laughing/smiling ever since I saw it (O.K., it was only a minute ago, but still . . . ).

Speaking of lame, I just forced M to watch your video. Twice.

I knew you were north, but Santa must be having serious labor problems if he's reduced to hiring poets and mining assay artists.

Time to re-name the blog Santa's Rock Star Elves.

Too much.

Oddly enough, on the very day that Rhett, a Calgarian, virtually forces us to speak to our character, our video camera returned from Calgary where it had been shipped for repairs. Any fan of Xena: Warrior Princess couldn't help but wonder if there's a god of nerds running amok.

I've sent this to people who don't even know you and THEY'RE charmed. Also, you have nice boots.

ha!

Thanks! They are Sorel Glacier. Very warm. We've had them for about 15 years. It looks like they don't come in gray and black anymore. We spend lots of time in the bush when it's cold, so we need serious boots. We have serious parkas, too, but it's not cold enough to haul them out yet.

ha! Will do, Mom!

I hope you're going to make sugar cookies...

er, what are Sorels?

do you draw water or hew wood with them?

(with apologies from the west coast)

So you don't need heavy duty, multipurpose winter boots where you live? :)

Hm. Sorel. I didn't put the emphasis on the correct syllable it seems. I hope the pronunciation police don't strip me of my boots...
