Several inches of heavy wet snow

...fell last night. I could hear the branches breaking. I imagine more branches broke this morning while I listened to "I am". Then I thought about how to get lost. And the meaning of life. I'm still thinking. I can almost hear the branches breaking in my head.

This afternoon, after we got back from coffee at The Orange Toad, we walked around the yard and surveyed the damage. The big old willows took a beating.

It continues to rain and snow as I write this. I guess it's time to dig out the snow brush.

Weird — I was reading something today about "Hume's fork" and that seems to be what Carol Cleland's invoking when she argues for abandoning the attempt to define life (but I might be wrong). Synchronicity? It seems to be happening a lot lately.

Have you stopped to look back at your line of footprints, then ahead at the untrodden snow? I bet that'll get you thinking again.

Weird, indeed! Mind you, these days most everything seems weird.

I'll give that a try, Pete, once it snows again. Most of it has melted. Looks like we're in for a sunny weekend.
