Another Wednesday

...is upon us. It's cold up here, so cold that the cat grunted and clawed her way under the covers at 5 a.m. What a racket! No doubt the sheets have holes now.

I see "NPR's List of Essential Poetry Books" by Dani Couture is now posted on Northern Poetry Review. I received an email from Dani in the fall, asking for a contribution to this article. When the email came, I was sitting in a makeshift office in my in-law's basement. I set up an office wherever I go. Anyhow, within no time I replied. This morning I've been having fun trying to match the titles to the contributors.

If all goes well, tomorrow night I'll hear readings by Sylvia Legris and Daniel Scott Tysdal at Campion College in Regina. I've heard them both read before and know it will be a great event.

On Friday I'm taking part in the Sixth Annual Poetry Face-Off. I'm looking forward to it. The event is tons of fun. And I'm really excited about rehearsing and performing the poem with Lee Kozak on guitar. He's amazing.

So you're saying you plan to sing like a bird(schmidt)?

Har har. Wouldn't you croak if I actually did sing...

So in your little fantasy world, I'm a frog and you're a bird?

Okay...

I'm jealous of Regina.

Ariel, my fantasy world happens to be remarkably large.

Rhett, I'm very fond of Regina. Fun people, fun times. It's a mighty long drive - a good 9 hours - but always worth it.
