My pop culture mentor

...sent me another puzzling postcard. I've been studying it for days. There's sand. And an audience. And 80s high tops. The frog on the far right has no shoes. And what's with those stripes? Yikes. Not to mention the frog heads and tutus. Anyhow, tonight I broke down and did some searching. It looks like these frogs were part of what's now called the puppetista movement. Before now I knew nothing about the history of radical puppetry.

I like the stripey outfit. If I had a stripey outfit like that, I'd wear it all the time. All the time I was alone, anyway. I'm alone lots.

I'm with you on the stripey outfit. I might kibosh the tutu though...

The best puppets I've seen were at the peace demonstration in Regina in 2003, before the Bushite went into Iraq. They were huge and they were amazing!

Good grief. No stripey outfits in my presence, please.

Huge puppets! I wish I'd been there, Berlynn. What I read on puppetry last night was a real eye opener. I had no idea. Mind you, I've never had the chance to witness a large demonstration either. And here I thought my cow-in-a-dress finger puppet was radical...

Finger puppets! Oh, B., you should've seen the cutie ptudie finger puppets my kidlings had when they were younger! Elephant, lion, monkey, chicken, and a cow, but no dress. A dress would've been fun...

Your wish is my command!

Well look at this! Alberta isn't far away. Maybe I could get into puppet construction and performance or enrol in a puppetry creation intensive. Now that appeals to me.

I just might!
