The most moving
...event I attended at the Festival of Words was the launch of the 30th anniversary edition of Andrew Suknaski's Wood Mountain Poems. I'd read the book only once before. Now I finally own a copy. Andrew Suknaski signed it for me. Last night I stayed up until the wee hours, rediscovering the poems, finally turning out the light after I read the last one. It's an incredible book.

It was a moving event, quick, insightfully short speeches, and powerful readings by many a talented author.
But for me, it was your readings that rocked! You did a smashing job.
Congratulations, Brenda! Wish I could have been there. I was almost there. I was through on the Monday just after...sigh.
wishing i could have been there; its an important book. ive been working 6 years on a suknaski selected (should be out next spring), a collection of essays on his work, & a collection of essays by suknaski as well (exhausting). did you see the essay i wrote on him at www.poetics.ca? did you see the john newlove documentary at the festival as well?

Anita, it would've been great to see you. A bunch of us had a fantastic night of tapas and yip yap at Amuze. They make a magical watermelon and shrimp soup. Amazing.
rob, thanks for pointing out the article. I'll be sure to read it. Good luck with your work on Suknaski. That must be a huge project.
As for the Newlove doc, I didn't see it.
