...and I looked back. It felt as if the coyote was looking around inside me. Searching. Going by the ample time it took, I'd like to think it didn't find too much to be concerned about. Just another curious human hiding behind a big lens.
Nope. I took it. H wasn't around, but his camera was. It would've been a whole different picture if he had taken it. I'm totally unfamiliar with the settings on it.
I was inside. I was in my office when I noticed it, but I took that photo through the sunroom window. It was windy and snowing at the time. Our yard actually gets a fair bit of traffic, so we keep a camera handy. Mainly fox. From spring to fall we get the odd bear. A caribou ran down the street a few years back. I didn't see it, but I guess people had to slow down for it. And wolves have been hanging around town, but I haven't seen one in the yard yet. With my luck that will happen when I'm outside.
A couple of years back, when M and I were doing a Alberta/BC road trip, we camped one night just outside of Drumheller. It was a good spot, with a view of red rock, a river just past the bounds of the campground, and few people. And all night, from somewhere in the hills, the coyotes howled.
What a curious fellow! What do you think he was thinking about? Hello, have you seen my lunch? Hello, invite me in for some lunch. Hello, are you lunch?
Dude, I have a picture just like that from when I was living in New York, but it was a crackhead and there were bars on my window... but the same expression, just what Anita said.

Nifty...did H take the picture?

Nice. Were you outside with it or in?

Very good photo, Brenda. The expression is great — Anita's comment sums it up beautifully.

Ariel, the sound of coyotes howling is one of the things I miss most about where I grew up.
Yes, Anita, like Pete says, you sum it up beautifully.
Thanks, Pete!
And G. What can I say to that? Oh my.
I believe the correct B response is: "eek!"
Heehee :-D
Har har. Very funny.
