...a nice review of my book just now.
I also came across George Szirtes' TS Eliot Lecture 2005. (From The T.S. Review)
I did not come across the names I expected to see among the entries to the new Random Highbrow competition. Some writers I know plan to submit poems to it. Who knows, maybe I'll whip up a sonnet for the occasion.

Nice!
My favourite moment is, not of reading the book, although I have many of those as well, but of a prebook moment.
Picture it, Muenster, Valentine's day, 2004, it's cold, someone knocked on my door and left a note, cryptic, "you're on the radio--room 203",(actually I don't remember the room number, or if that's what the note said, but I like to write, so I made it up).
The wind is crying in hard rejected sounds from the south, and I sit in a massive, cold, empty room with B and Rhona--otherwise known as Rhonda or Rhoda. We have one older radio that we hover around, like a fireplace on a frozen night,(although it's afternoon, well, 5pm to be exact) and we listen to a special suite of poems, wacky love poems, first mine, then B's squirrels, amazing poems, and I could hardly wait to get my hands on this book.
Ah, that's so nice! Same right back at you.
Terrific review Brenda! Both :-)
My favorite phrase in the review is "Like all the best poets..."
Congratulations, B...
(Where did the review appear, by the way? Inquiring minds and all that rot...)
Thanks Anita and Ariel!
It's a SPG "weekly book picks" review and these are sent to every weekly newspaper in SK. The newspapers then publish which ones they want.
