I'm far from organized, though I do spend an inordinate amount of time lining up the spines of my dictionaries and thesaurus, wondering why the thesaurus is 1/2 inch shorter and then wondering why I even have a thesaurus since I rarely ever look at it. It's actually the third time I've encountered a book with sequence issues. The first was a novel, Saramago's _Baltasar & Blimunda_ and it was missing pages right at the frikking end. And I was in Resolute bloody Bay when I got to it, so I had to wait weeks till I could trade the damn thing in for a good copy. The other one was in a Marshall McLuhan book, and I'm not convinced it wasn't intentional...

One of these days I'll get around to updating that log.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10177155.post-83722410778450632472007-02-02T10:52:00.000-06:002007-02-02T10:52:00.000-06:00I also failed to mention that I learned of the Ste...I also failed to mention that I learned of the Steven Pinker books on Zach's log, which I troll regularly. However, I require a plain, unlined book this spring for a specific purpose since sketching will be a big part of it. I owe you for introducing me to these. They're so compact. The perfect size to carry around. I was told they were selling briskly at Christmas at McNally, so I hope they keep them in stock. I didn't see them at first because they weren't with the other journals. They had their own display stand on the other side of the circular checkout, not somewhere I generally look.Brenda Schmidthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03576550905189206215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10177155.post-79567737227811185472007-02-02T09:43:00.000-06:002007-02-02T09:43:00.000-06:00My ruled lines have been spurned. Nice of you not to mention all the "so" and "anyway" and typical Brenda quirks. :) As far as content goes, only regular readers would know which Bringhurst book I was talking about. I should add I didn't say who recommended the book because it came out of a private chat, not from a public forum, and I'd like those chats to continue. And I mention Ed's blog, but not the name of the blog. I could go on.

Part of the reason I decided to do this video relates to an email I received from a friend the other day, saying she'd like to see pics posted of my office. I replied saying that wasn't likely. As it is, I don't let anyone in here but the cat and sometimes H, so this video is as close as it will get. And interesting, let's not forget interesting.

I read Ed's blog every day too--I agree; it's a great blog.

I have a journal too (not a moleskine) but it's absolutely not pretentious, although it may be silly; it's an Olivia-themed one.
