I can't remember if we had to memorize anything. :) While I have no trouble remembering things for exams, I really have to work at memorizing poems. That means re-reading them more than occasionally. H, on the other hand, can recite poems from childhood as well as poems that I studied for courses. Mind you, he's a walking telephone directory and GPS as well, so it comes as no surprise. Everything sticks in his head.
